There is much going on that needs stopping. I'll mention several, in no particular order, but just as they come to me. Everything has happened to each of us, at one time or another; if you find yourself nodding your head in agreement, that's fine.
On my way to do some errands yesterday, I was at that one particular three-way stop sign I mentioned in a previous column. I'm always very cautious at that three-way stop. Drivers have a habit of running it and not stopping at all.
Stopped, something told me not to make a move. My inner voice was right. A black Jeep, with a young girl at the wheel and a younger boy in the passenger seat didn't even pause at the stop sign, they sped on through without even a glance around; I was honking my horn to wake them up. They didn't even look my way. They are idiots looking for an accident to happen.
One of my radio friends, on Facebook, told a similar story about her experience at an intersection in New Jersey. A little voice in the back of her head told her not to take the green light that was hers; something was going to happen. She was right. Another car blew through his red light. Had she taken her right of way, he would have rammed right into her.
Stop this madness of school shootings! There is no good reason why this country shouldn't enact reasonable gun control laws. How many deaths is it going to take before our idiot Republican-run Congress takes their collective heads out of their butts and stand up to the gun control lobby, the National Rifle Association (NRA), which contributes millions of dollars to Congressional campaigns in order to keep their favourite politicians in office to vote, no, on gun control.
The politicians that need to be out of office are those that voted for the idiotic Trump tax plan, using taxpayer dollars for a border wall and keeping gun control laws at bay. I can't wait for the mid-term elections to see how these idiot Republicans run out of office. The Democrats are biding their time and, when elected, will change parts of the new tax laws, especially those regarding State and Local Tax deductions that Trump gutted like a rotten fish.
Then let's see what happens in the 2020 Presidential Election. I'm hoping Joe Biden decides to run for President. I believe that he can bring some sanity back to government, without stupid tweets and scandals erupting every day from the White House.
A porn star and former Playboy model have said they had affairs with Donald Trump, while he was married to Melania. Both women received money, ostensibly, to keep quiet about these affairs. How can Mrs Trump stand all this without divorcing her idiot husband who is making a fool out of her?
Trump is a man that says he can grab any pussy he wants. He’s a star. Nobody has the right to grab, touch, kiss or harass anyone if she or he doesn't consent.
America, for the moment, is too tolerant of the White House. Accusations of fake news, grossly undercut with the indictment of thirteen Russians for meddling in the 2016 election, divert attention from these indiscretions. I bet Bill Cosby is laughing his ass off at Trump and thanking him for turning the spotlight away of him.
The mid-term elections offer the opportunity to vote out the representative or senator that did nothing to enact reasonable gun control laws and support for the stupid Trump tax plan. You have a right to vote; make sure you use it.
Matt Seinberg lives on Long Island, a few minutes east of New York City. He looks at everything around him and notices much. Somewhat less cynical than dyed in the wool New Yorkers, Seinberg believes those who don't see what he does like reading about what he sees and what it means to him. Seinberg columns revel in the silly little things of life and laughter as well as much well-directed anger at inept, foolish public officials. Mostly, Seinberg writes for those who laugh easily at their own foibles as well as those of others.
